Description:

The AGILE Data Acquisition and Control System (DACS) Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving our customized LabVIEW-based DACS that supports testing operations. The DACS Engineer will troubleshoot, maintain and document current implementations of the DACS as well as identify, develop, and deploy improvements to the DACS system. The DACS Engineer will also be a member of the AGILE Hot-Fire Test Operations team, supporting test operations, maintain the test equipment, deploy test facility improvements, and manage and improve key operational processes.


Job Details:

Develop, document, and maintain LabVIEW applications to support propulsion testing operations

  • Perform full life cycle software development, including requirements definition, testing, quality assurance, and benchmarking
  • Integrate new features into existing systems as company strategy or program requirements dictate
  • Develop and implement AGILE databases

Design, build, and maintain National Instruments PXI/RIO Data Acquisition and Control Systems (DACS)

  • Identify hardware requirements and compatibility
  • Assemble, setup, and validate DACS hardware configurations
  • Work with test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, load cells, pyrometers, IR cameras, and accelerometers
  • Ensure hardware is within calibration requirements and maintain instrument scheduling
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DACS hardware issues

Support Hot-Fire Test Operations

  • On-call / on-site support of DACS during test operations
  • Support facility upgrade or maintenance activities
  • Efficiently resolve issues with data acquisition to meet the needs of the customer and test team
  • Implement and manage improvements to the operational methodologies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM field
  • Experience with instrumentation and electrical system troubleshooting
  • 4+ years of LabVIEW programming experience (CLD or better preferred)
  • Capacity to work effectively and communicate in team environments
  • Excited about rocket propulsion technology
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident

The Salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000.

The salary ranges provided in this job posting are indicative and may be adjusted for individual candidates commensurate with experience or technical capabilities. All permanent full time AGILE employees also are eligible to participate in the employee stock option plan as part of a comprehensive remuneration package.
